BWTVF 2007 Goes Green with David Suzuki, Daryl Hannah and Tim Flannery

The Banff World Television Festival is turning over a ‘green’ leaf this year, introducing eco-friendly practices and a focus on climate change. As part of this initiative, environmentalist, broadcaster and award-winning scientist David Suzuki, actor and environmentalist Daryl Hannah, and internationally acclaimed scientist, explorer, conservationist and author Tim Flannery have been confirmed to take part in a panel entitled "Code Green - Environmental Responsibility in the Media". The Banff World Television Festival will present its 2007 Outstanding Achievement Award to the British Broadcasting Corporation. The BBC will be honoured for its high-quality programming and overall contribution to the television industry. Mark Thompson, Director General of the BBC will attend BWTVF to accept the award, and to take part in a Question and Answer session at the close of BWTVF’s sister event, nextMEDIA - The Future of Digital Content on Sunday June 10, that will be attended by delegates from both events.
