Jacques Bensimon

Jacques Bensimon is the recently appointed executive vice president of the Banff Television Foundation, an event management organization which currently hosts the annual Banff Television Festival, the World Congress of Science Producers, the newly formed World Congress of History Producers, and the Alliance Atlantis Banff Television Executive Program.

Among his many duties he works alongside Pat Ferns, president and CEO of the Foundation, co-hosting international co-production workshops around the world. Prior to joining the Foundation Mr. Bensimon was managing director of TFO, the French network of TVOntario Canada where he served as a member of the Executive Management Committee and directed the French-language education network. He was also responsible for acquiring feature films and acting as the on-air host for all film presentations on the network.

In January 2000, Mr. Bensimon participated in the first Alliance Atlantis Banff Television Executive Program, a workshop for senior television executives, broadcasters and producers.

Mr. Bensimon is a member of the board at TV5 U.S.A. the International French Network, NATAS the International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, an honourary board member of Le Cercle Canadien, and vice president of AITED the International Association of Education & Discovery Television. Mr. Bensimon's awards and recognitions include an honourary degree from the University of York, Canada; Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres - Ministery of Culture - France; Prix du 3 juillet 1608, Quebec government (recognition for work done at TFO) for contribution to the North American Francophone.
