BANFF 2001 Announces Finalists for Market Simulation and New Players
Pitches
(Banff, Alberta, Canada, May 25, 2001) Pat Ferns, president and
CEO of the Banff Television Foundation is pleased to announce the
finalists chosen to present their projects during the International
Market Simulations and New Players Pitches at BANFF 2001 (June 10
- 15). The competition was strong for both pitching opportunities,
sponsored by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. "The Festival
received the highest number of submissions in its history for the
Market Simulation sessions," reports president Ferns and, "the
response to the first year of the New Players Pitches was higher
than expected and very gratifying. Television shows of the future
will be born at these pitches just as some of today's programs got
their start at past BANFF events."
International Market Simulations
At the International Market Simulations the following finalists
will present their projects to an audience of commissioning editors,
producers, financial executives, and other industry representatives.
In his role as moderator Pat Ferns, with assistance from executive
vice president, Jacques Bensimon, will introduce the pitchers and
then challenge commissioning editors from around the world to assess
the project's chances from both creative and financial perspectives.
