A NEW BANFF 2001 PITCHING OPPORTUNITY!
CONVINCE A TOP EXECUTIVE TO TAKE A MEETING!

To provide a platform for new players and new ideas, BANFF 2001 is launching New Players Pitch an initiative that will expose emerging talent to top decision-makers in the content-creation business. The aim of this session is to give new players an opportunity to secure a meeting with a broadcaster, distributor or partner who can help move a project from idea to development or from development to production.

During New Players Pitch, scheduled on June 12 and 14, 2001 from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m., selected applicants will have approximately three minutes in the spotlight to present their projects from the BANFF 2001 stage. A panel of key decision-makers who are interested in specific projects will announce their willingness to schedule one-on-one meetings to progress a project.

The deadline for submissions was April 30, 2001, applications are no longer being accepted.

CONDITIONS:

  1. In order to qualify as an emerging producer, applicants must have no more that one producer credit in his or her professional career.

  2. All short-listed finalists must be present to pitch their projects in person and must be registered at BANFF 2001 for the relevant days.

  3. Individuals participating must be able to pitch their projects either in English or in French - their choice.

  4. The ONLY applications that will be considered are ones using the New Players Call for Submissions online form; please do not send additional outlines, treatments or other details. If submitting more than one project, use separate forms for each project.

  5. Applicants whose projects are short-listed for inclusion in the New Players Pitch will be contacted directly and asked to submit additional information. No telephone enquiries please.

  6. We are accepting projects in all genres.
