TELEFILM CANADA - CYBERPITCH 2001

Win $10,000 !

Here's your chance to pitch a new media CyberPitch project at BANFF 2001, June 10- 15 and win up to $10,000 in development funding.

The Banff Television Festival in partnership with the Banff Centre, Media and Visual Arts Department brings you CyberPitch 2001, presented by Telefilm Canada with prize Money from Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund. This innovative and popular two-part CyberPitch session is a forum where you can participate in the creation of new entertainment and information products for the media of tomorrow by pitching your new programming and content concepts to an expert panel of new media practitioners. CyberPitch, a format developed in BANFF, is also presented at the Baddeck International New Media Festival.

We are looking for ideas for fully interactive projects where different delivery platforms and media such as wireless, television and internet are an integral part of the design. All projects submitted should involve 2 - 3 different platforms such as internet/ tv combination or wireless/ tv combination. The winning project will push the boundaries of interactivity, make use of the power of television to communicate, and tap the potential of interactive technologies to involve, motivate and provoke. At the same time the project will entertain, inform or educate - or do all three at once. It will both initially attract viewers and also encourage them to return again and again. Finally, it will have merit on its own and not be solely a tool for marketing another format.

CONDITIONS:

  1. The finalists must pitch their projects in person and must be registered at BANFF 2001. BANFF 2001 takes place June 10 - 15, 2001 in Banff, Alberta, Canada.

  2. The submission must be entered using the CyberPitch Call for Submission online form (applications now closed). If submitting more than one project, use separate forms for each project.

  3. All submissions must be in English, but spoken-word simultaneous translation will be available for finalists to pitch either in French or in English.
