MASTER CLASSES
The Banff Television Festival's Master Classes are inspirational
learning opportunities with some of the world's leading content
creators. They reflect the Festival's goal to provide the opportunity
to television and new media professionals for intimate face-to-face
exchanges with others who can share their experiences and pass on
seasoned advice. As attendance at the Festival grows, opportunities
for small groups to meet with the major talent who are our masters
is increasingly valuable.
BANFF2001 offers a total of 24 classes in six streams of
four classes each. They focus on the crafts of Writing, Producing,
and Directing; the genres of Children's and Documentary programs
plus the creative and technical elements of New Media. Each class
is 90 minutes long. Class size is deliberately small (40-50 people)
so that participants will enjoy a close encounter with the master.
Attendance at the classes is by appointment only. Delegates registering
for BANFF2001 by May 1st have priority as attendees at these
classes. There is a democratic selection process since there are
traditionally more applications than seats.
The deadline for applications to attend master classes has passed.
Seats are being allocated on a "first-drawn, first-accepted"
basis. Successful candidates will be notified by email.
