BANFF TELEVISION FESTIVAL 2001

HIGHLIGHTS

While the conference schedule for the 22nd Banff Television Festival is still in very active development, it is already shaping up as a winning, eclectic combination of creativity, commerce, tradition and innovation. We invite you to watch as we build the schedule, develop our ideas, and recruit and confirm many of the best creative and entrepreneurial minds in world television and New Media.

As you will see, this year's "By Appointment Only" schedule includes 24 Master Classes, 8 Take a Decision-Maker to Breakfast and 8 Take a Decision-Maker to Lunch sessions. Paradoxically, these enormously popular, privileged-access events reflect the mission of the Festival to celebrate excellence in television and the core values of democracy, accessibility and intimacy. As BANFF2001 gets bigger, with at least 1,800 delegates expected in 2001, it is important to have within the Festival opportunities for small groups (40 to 50 delegates) to meet with major talent, key players and high-level executives in intimate face-to-face settings. We also try to involve those resource people in the general seminars ("Come One, Come All") to enable as many delegates as possible to hear their views.

The selection process for "By Appointment Only" sessions is democratic. Online submission forms will be available in early may for "by appointment only sessions." Please submit your applications online to be included in the draw. Completed applications will be entered in a random draw, and space will be allocated on a first-drawn, first-served basis.

Come back frequently over the weeks and months to come for up-to-date "at a glance" information. As this section of our site is developed further, you'll be able to click on specific events in both Week-at-a-Glance schedules to get detailed seminar descriptions and lists of confirmed speakers.
