CTV Canadian Documart: The World's Richest Pitch

Plenary
9:05am - 10:30am
Van Horne Ballroom, Conference Centre

Introduced by Trina McQueen, President/COO, CTV

With inspiration from the Australian Documart, Banff 2001 is combining this exciting format with generous prizes provided by CTV. Pat Ferns will host the world's commissioning editors in factual programming as seven finalists compete for prizes in the world's richest pitch. The CTV Canadian Documart will provide $50,000 to the winning pitcher, $30,000 for the silver medalist, and $20,000 for the bronze.

The CTV Canadian Documart is dedicated to popular mainstream documentaries. The competition is open to Canadian producers and international producers working under one of Canada's international co-production treaties. CTV's hope is to assist independent producers in fast-tracking ideas for mainstream audience-grabbing factual programming.

The CTV Canadian Documart puts the commissioning editors on stage. They will select the winners by secret ballot, evaluating the quality of a pitch, the viability of a project, and most importantly, the quality of the content. This promises to be an exciting day, in which we give out $100,000 in ninety minutes!

Sticky Moments: Building an Interactive Media Business that Works
