FESTIVAL SCREENINGS
All nominees and other programs exhibited at the Festival will be screened throughout the Festival site. To meet the requirements of delegates and to facilitate business transactions, the Festival will also make available videotape viewing facilities for "on demand" screenings. The nature of this service is as follows: all television programs (or webcasts) invited or submitted to the Festival in competition or out of competition will be included and catalogued in the Festival's video library and made available to Festival participants for "on demand" screenings.
The Festival committee reserves the right to use portions of entries submitted with the express agreement that use of same would be exclusively for Festival promotion, and that not more than three minutes of any program will be used for such purposes.
Unless expressly prohibited, the Festival reserves the right to make copies of winning entries for archival use only, with no commercial exploitation whatsoever.
Unless expressly prohibited, the Festival may copy any program entry for use in non- commercial, promotional exhibitions highlighting the best of the Festival.
The Banff Rockie Awards
Programs chosen as nominees for consideration by the international jury will be announced in April 2000 at a press conference during MIP-TV in Cannes, France. Short clips of nominated programs (up to a maximum length of two minutes) may form part of the media announcement and are also an integral element in the Banff Rockie Awards presentation on June 11, 2001 during the Festival.
The Festival reserves the right to use these clips to promote the competition and the Awards. In the event that the Awards presentation is televised, the Festival agrees to advise the owner of a nominated program of such use in the event that more than two minutes of material is to be used. Otherwise, the owner hereby grants the Festival the right to use a clip in this specific context. If there are any restrictions on such use, the owner must advise the Festival no later than May 15, 2001 and undertakes to use best efforts in collaboration with the Festival to secure suitable clearance.
